Monument Herengracht 168 has the oldest neck-gable of Amsterdam (1638, renovated in circa 1730) built by the architect, inventor of the neck-gable, Philips Vingboons. It has a stuccoed corridor, an oval staircase and sculptures by Jan van Logteren, ceiling paintings by Jacob de Wit and painted wallpaper by De Wit en De Moucheron. Theatre Institute Netherland has been moved to Sarphatistraat 53 |
