Monument Herengracht 168 has the oldest neck-gable of Amsterdam (1638, renovated in circa 1730) built by the architect, inventor of the neck-gable, Philips Vingboons. It has a stuccoed corridor, an oval staircase and sculptures by Jan van Logteren, ceiling paintings by Jacob de Wit and painted wallpaper by De Wit en De Moucheron.
